Ms. Kelly, a dramatic mezzo soprano is a middle school choral director in the Atlanta area. After earning her bachelor’s degree in music education, she received her master’s
degree in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee. It was there that Ms. Kelly was a member of the Knoxville Opera Studio.
Her favorite roles performed include, "Baba”, “Ruth”, “Katisha”, “Lady Billows”,
“Zita”, “La Frugola”, “La Principessa”, “The Second Nursemaid”, “Marthe”,
“Bertha”, “The Witch” and “Rebecca Nurse”. Ms. Kelly has performed with Webster
Opera Studio, UT Opera, Opera in the Ozarks, Knoxville Opera Company, Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera,
Newberry Opera, Capital City Opera, and Atlanta Opera. While touring with Opera
Iowa, Ms. Kelly made her international debut in Shijiazhuang, China in 2000 singing “Bertha” in The
Barber of Seville. For the last 4 years, Ms. Kelly sings with Capital City Opera’s Young Audience program
as “The Witch” in Hansel and Gretel. Along with teaching her
young singers, she most recently she sang the dramatic role of “Baba” with Capital City Opera, and the roles of
“High Priestess” in Aida and “Cio cio san’s mother in Madama Butterfly with Atlanta Opera. Ms. Kelly is an active teacher in arts education and just recently prepared a school wide field trip for
her entire middle school to view Atlanta Opera’s student matinee of La Boheme of which she was a member of the chorus.
